In vielen Fällen stammt der BP-Grundstock eines Königreiches aus einer Quelle, die nicht deiner Abenteurergruppe angehört. Eine reiche Königin könnte die Wildnis[link2] jenseits sten errichten wollen, um die Handelsverbindungen zu fernen Ländern zu verbessern. Unabhängig vom anvisierten Ziel kostet die Gründung einer neuen Ortschaft Tausende von Goldmünzen, viel mehr, als die meisten Abenteurer für so weltliche Dinge wie Gefängnisse, Mühlen und Bootsanleger ausgeben wollen.
Der SL kann daher diese Mittel einfach als Belohnung für das Erfüllen einer Queste zur Verfügung stellen. Eine reiche Königin könnte den SC niedere Adelstitel verleihen und BP aus ihrer Schatzkammer zur Verfügung stellen, wenn diese einen berüchtigten Räuber zur Strecke bringen und die Burgruine, in der er haust, zum Kern einer neuen Ortschaft machen. Eine Gilde könnte den SC eine Schiffsladung Güter und Arbeiter und genug BP zur Verfügung stellen, um eine kleine Kolonie auf einem neuentdeckten Kontinent zu gründen, welcher reich an Rohstoffen ist. Im Gegenzug erwartet der Geldgeber, dass du zu seinem Vasallen oder engen Verbündeten wirst. In manchen Fällen muss die Investition auch zurückgezahlt werden, z.B. 1 BP pro Monat, oder dem Schutzherrn muss ein monatlicher Tribut gezahlt werden, z.B. 10% des Einkommens pro Zug, Minimum 1 BP.
50 BP stellen einen geeigneten Grundstock dar, um ein neues Königreich ein paar Züge lang am Laufen zu halten, während man die eigene Wirtschaft auf baut, zugleich besteht aber dennoch das Risiko eines Zusammenbruchs aufgrund von Misswirtschaft oder Unglück.
Da die ersten Bürger, die auch durch diese BP-Investition repräsentiert werden, wahrscheinlich gegenüber dem Geldgeber loyal sind, könnte es sie verärgern und für Probleme sorgen, sollten die SC sich gegen den Geldgeber stellen. Solltest du beispielsweise den Gesandten der Königin beleidigen, könnten deine Bürger dies als Affront gegen die Königin betrachten und rebellieren.
Deine Pflichten gegenüber dem Geldgeber fallen basierend auf den Bedingungen, unter denen er dir die BP zur Verfügung stellt, in der Regel in eine der folgenden Kategorien:
Eroberung: Die Soldaten des Geldgebers kämpfen gegen die Armee eines anderen Königreiches, wobei die bisherigen Anführer ihres Königreiches gef lohen sind, sich ergeben haben oder getötet[link3] wurden. Der Geldgeber übergibt dir das Kommando über die Soldaten und dieses Gelände.
Konzession: Der Geldgeber überlässt dir die Besiedlung und Verbesserung eines Gebietes, welches der Lehnsherr bereits beansprucht hat, das aber noch nicht sonderlich von der Zivilisation berührt wurde. Möglicherweise sollst du dieses Gebiet vergrößern oder gegen feindliche Kreaturen verteidigen.
Lehen: Der Geldgeber überlässt dir einen Teil seiner eigenen, bereits besiedelten Ländereien, erwartet aber dafür u.a. deinen Gehorsam. Sollten dazu bereits verbessertes Gelände und Städte[link1] gehören, wird von dir erwartet, sie zu verwalten und weiter zu verbessern. Auch wenn du bereits mit Land und Ortschaften beginnst, benötigst du dennoch etwa 50 BP als Startguthaben, um den Verbrauch deines Königreiches auszugleichen und die Entwicklung voranzutreiben.
Statut: Der Geldgeber erwartet, dass du ein Wildnisgebiet an seiner Grenze erkundest, sicherst und besiedelst. Es handelt sich um ein Gebiet, auf das der Geldgeber territoriale Ansprüche hat. Möglicherweise musst du dich anderer Herausforderer erwehren, die ebenfalls Ansprüche anmelden.
Die Gründung eines Königreiches ist nicht einfach, sonst hätte wahrscheinlich jeder eines. Wenn man keinen Geldgeber und auch keine unglaubliche Menge an Ressourcen und Mitteln geerbt oder anderweitig erlangt haben sollte, können bereits die Ausgangskosten die SC in die Knie zwingen. Schon die Errichtung einer neuen Ortschaft, die nur aus einem Wohnhaus und einem Gasthaus besteht, kostet 13 BP, verschlingt also Stein, Bauholz, Arbeit, Nahrung und vieles andere im Gesamtwert von über 50.000 GM. Allerdings könnte der SL zum Ausgleich und um dich zu ermutigen, ins Abenteuer auszuziehen, die Umtauschrate von GM zu BP zu deinen Gunsten anpassen. Du kannst davon aber nur Gebrauch machen, wenn du keinen Geldgeber hast. Eine bessere Tauschrate repräsentiert der Umstand, dass dein Volk von deinen direkten, persönlichen Bemühungen und deiner harten Arbeit dazu inspiriert wird, sich besonders ins Zeug zu legen, um das Königreich funktionsfähig zu machen.
Die verbesserte Tauschrate hängt von der Größe deines Königreiches ab – siehe auch die folgende Tabelle:

Der SL könnte auch gestatten, dass du während eines Abenteuers als Belohnung einen Vorrat an Gütern findest, welcher BP statt GM wert ist. Auf diese Weise würdest du den Grundstock zur Gründung oder Unterhaltung deines Reiches erlangen.
